The Global Business Alliance (formerly known as the Organization for International Investment) is seeking a dynamic professional with a strong interest and background in U.S. trade policies to help direct its federal advocacy efforts. Reporting to the senior vice president of external affairs, the director of trade and investment policy will be responsible for managing a variety of initiatives, including: leading the organization’s federal trade agenda, building congressional support for international investment, identifying trends within the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and advocating for policies that improve U.S. competitiveness.

Lead GBA’s advocacy work on federal trade and investment policies
Represent the organization and its members in meetings with federal policymakers, both within Congress and the Administration
Manage working groups within GBA’s membership and lead the organization’s biweekly trade conference calls
Oversee the organization’s priorities within the Department of Commerce’s Investment Advisory Council
Draft timely updates to GBA members, as well as regulatory comment letters and congressional testimony
Help build coalitions in support of the organization’s federal trade policy priorities among third-party organizations
Assist in the organization’s state government affairs efforts, as needed
A minimum of three years working for a Member of Congress as a legislative assistant or higher position. Experience working for members on the House Ways and Means Committee and/or the Senate Finance Committee is aplus.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in economics, political science, journalism or related fields
