Director, Government Affairs | GBA
Amanda Darlington is the Director of Government Affairs for the Global Business Alliance (GBA) and helps drive GBA’s proactive advocacy agenda. Amanda manages a variety of initiatives, including GBA’s strategic external affairs programming, congressional coalition and caucus engagement, gubernatorial townhall series, business association outreach and think-tank collaboration.
A licensed attorney and experienced government relations professional, Amanda has worked with trade associations and companies in both a state and federal lobbying capacity to foster legislative and regulatory outcomes and relationships, build coalitions and effectuate policy priorities.
Prior to joining GBA, Amanda worked as a Policy Consultant and as the Director of Government Relations for the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) where she covered legislative and regulatory issues related to single-use plastics packaging (sustainability), age restrictions on dietary supplement products, hemp-derived cannabidiol, mandatory product listing, HSA/FSA product inclusions and COVID-19 essential worker classification and initiatives. Previously, Amanda led the University of Phoenix’s state government affairs practice and has worked with the American Academy of Actuaries.
Amanda began her career as a legislative fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives, and after earning her law degree, as in-house legal compliance counsel for Ryder Systems, Inc.
Amanda received her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Central Florida and law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
