As the only organization focused exclusively on supporting the international business community in Washington, D.C., OFII ensures that policymakers at the federal, state and local level understand the critical role that foreign direct investment (FDI) plays in America’s economy. OFII advocates for fair, non-discriminatory treatment of international companies and promotes policies that will encourage them to establish U.S. operations, which in turn increases American employment and U.S. economic growth.
The Organization for International Investment (OFII) is seeking students interested political science, foreign or public policy, economics, or communications. The government affairs internship position is an excellent way for inquisitive students interested in international trade, tax and commerce policy to gain valuable experience while advancing their educational pursuits.
The intern will work directly with our government affairs professionals and will split his/her time on assisting the team with their research and lobbying efforts.
Candidates should be willing to assume some administrative responsibilities such as answering phones, in addition to special projects.
Tracking legislation, conducting research on inbound investment issues, assisting in the creation of meeting and conference materials, attending internal and external meetings as necessary.
Must be a college junior, senior, graduate student, or recent graduate with demonstrated interest in marketing, political science, foreign or public policy, economics or communications. Excellent research and writing skills, and experience with Microsoft Office products required. Prior DC-based intern experience preferred. Association management software and programming skills a plus.
